Who Is Responsible for Your Slip and Fall Accident?

When you have a slip and fall accident that is caused by the negligence of others, you should gain compensation for your medical bills and any lost wages due to the injury. However, you have to get this compensation from the correct party. Sometimes the person responsible for your injury may not be who you initially believe. You need the expert advice of a New York City Personal Injury Lawyer to help you determine the responsible party in many cases.

New York Injury Attorneys can discover the responsible party much more easily than you can on your own. For example, if you trip on a broken stair at a local shop, you have a case because it is reasonable to expect that stair to be fixed. However, if the businessperson is renting the space, the landlord may be the responsible party, not the business. An experienced Queens Accident Lawyer can gain information that explains the ownership of the building, the terms of a lease, and other information required to determine liability.

Many Manhattan Personal Injury Attorneys will be able to assist you in getting the information needed and file your claim with the courts. In fact, most of these lawyers will be able to handle everything for you behind the scenes, so to speak. This allows you to concentrate on recovery.
