The IT department has been asking for a new set of Cisco Catalyst Switches to replace the old ones that we have in the network room.   However, the requests they made were always rejected by the head of the purchasing department stating lack of funds.  I do not actually blame her because the prices quoted on the proposals submitted for review were just too high.  The company is trying to limit the expenses to maintain the net income levels so excessive spending is out of the question.

I wanted to help them out so I suggested that they try getting a quote from stores that sell used Cisco equipment.  I referred the website that I saw while browsing the web one night.  They were thankful for the referral and promised to check it out.  A few days after, I saw another request from them again but this time the prices quoted were way lower and I saw that they tried out the website that I referred.   Seeing the lower cost, the head of purchasing gave the stamp of approval giving them the go signal to order the much needed equipment. The guys were thankful for sharing with them the information and they are now excited for the new set of equipment to be delivered.
